Paris Photo 2021 in a few words:
1. It was the first fair I attended since the beginning of the pandemic, and the first time I was at Paris Photo with my new American gallery. Edwynn Houk is a great worker, I don’t think he ever sat down for a minute in the 3 days I was there. It was great because I had a chair all for myself;
2. I’m not sure there was anything revolutionary in this edition of the Grand Palais Ephémère apart from the fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower from the VIP Lounge;
3. Funny story: during the few days I was there, there were a lot of meetings and dinners. The only one that I attended was the most sought after, that is the TODI Circle Reunion. Great to see old and new friends from the very top of the photography world, but somehow shocked by the fact that one of the waiters threw a good two litres of french “fond brun” sauce down my back, jacket, t-shirt, trousers. I couldn’t get off this meaty flavour until I got back home and threw everything in the washing machine.
